Iron Head Bison Monthly Blog: Volume 2

Iron Head Bison Monthly Blog: Volume 2

As we head into the summer months, we are excited to announce some ranch news to our readers. We have been busy around the ranch with activities such as seeding, field trip tours, and more!

New Hay Crops

Summer heat is coming in and Iron Head Bison is proud to finally be seeding for our own hay crops. We planted a special blend crop that is specific to the nutritional needs of our bison. Following the completion of the prep for seeding and fertilizing for our 2023 season, we would like to continue to learn and progress in growing food for the herd. We believe this will supplement good feed for the bison during those cold snowy winter months. We will continue to share updates throughout the growing season and we are hoping for a successful growing season to feed our herd.

Field Trip Tour

We recently had our first ranch field trip of the year take place last week with Southwood Elementary School. It is always a pleasure to take others on a tour of our ranch while showing them our animals and how we operate. We had a fun day around the ranch with lots of students which consisted of fun and laughter. If you or someone you know may be interested in scheduling a tour feel free to reach out. You can contact us via email at ironheadbison@outlook.com.

Leather Restock

We are restocking on our leather products this month and have decided to go with a more traditional heritage look on this batch of leather products. We will be offering our leather mitts with a bit longer of a cuff and a fringe as well. These will be offered in a few different colors such as cowboy leather, black, and mocha brown. Our new moccasins will also be made with beaver fur around the top instead of rabbit fur for enhanced durability. Reach out to us via email at info@ironheadbison.com with any questions you may have and stay tuned for our new product launch coming in august.
